Alongside my clinical work, I am passionate about contributing to the development of more effective and compassionate psychological support for neurodivergent people.

Current Research
I am currently undertaking doctoral research exploring internalised stigma in adults with ADHD and whether adapting Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) may help reduce shame, self-criticism and the negative impact that stigma can have on wellbeing. Internalised stigma refers to the process of taking on negative messages about oneself, which can affect self-esteem, mental health and quality of life.
This research is informed by both my clinical experience and my interest in understanding how psychological therapies can better meet the needs of neurodivergent adults. As the project develops, I will use this page to share updates and information about opportunities to participate in the research.
In addition, I have presented research at professional conferences. Most recently, I presented a poster at the Compassionate Mind Conference on a Compassion Focused Therapy-informed trauma stabilisation group. This work explored the use of compassion-focused approaches to support individuals experiencing the effects of trauma and highlighted the potential value of compassion in helping people develop emotional safety and stability before engaging in trauma-focused work.
I am committed to bridging the gap between research and clinical practice, ensuring that my work remains informed by both emerging evidence and the lived experiences of the people I support.
